We want to make it easy for you to support our mission in the way that best suits your family’s needs.

Below, you’ll find a comprehensive list of all the different ways you can give to DGT. Your gifts help support our unique programsevents, valuable services, and fun activities that promote kindness and giving and help empower families to raise caring, engaged children.

Cash

Put your gift to work now by making a cash donation is as simple as writing a check, authorizing a transfer from your bank or authorizing a charge on your credit card.

Employee Matching Gifts

You can multiply the impact of your gift to DGT with a matching gift from your employer. Matching gifts are an easy and painless way to maximize your gift to DGT. To find out if your company participates in employee gift matching, request information from your Human Resources department. You may be asked to fill out a form with our tax-exempt ID number: 20-0321382. Here is a list of organizations that have matching gifts in Minnesota.

Donor Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes. If you have a donor-advised fund through Schwab, Fidelity, or BNY Mellon, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to DGT directly from your DAF.

Stocks and Securities

You invest, we raise caring and kind children, and our communities improve. It’s that simple. By making a donation in the form of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other appreciated securities, you are making an investment in the future of children in your community. As a donor, you are entitled to take a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value of appreciated securities held longer than one year, and you usually avoid paying the capital gains tax that would be due if you sold the securities.

Planned Giving

Your legacy can have an impact. A planned gift to Doing Good Together ensures the expansion and continuation of our landmark programs and creates your own legacy of support. Whether your estate is small or large, individuals can make arrangements to leave behind a gift, called a charitable bequest, to an important cause– like Doing Good Together™.  This currently can be done in two different ways:

  • Setting aside a specific dollar amount

  • Designating a specific percentage of the estate

“I give to Doing Good Together™, a Minnesota nonprofit (501)(c)(3) organization located in Wayzata, Minnesota [ ____% of my residuary estate / the sum of $_____ ] to be used [where the need is greatest / for the following purpose _________].”

Life Insurance or Retirement Accounts

Donating your life insurance could be a wonderful way to help.  By making Doing Good Together the beneficiary of an existing policy, you can leave a significant gift to benefit children, families, and communities throughout our country. To create a gift in this way, contact the administrator of your retirement plan or IRA and designate Doing Good Together™  as a beneficiary.

Speaking Engagements

Faith communities, fraternal, social, and civic organizations, corporations and small businesses, and educational institutions can help introduce more people to the important mission and work of DGT.  Your assistance in opening doors to these opportunities will be greatly appreciated.

We always recommend that you seek the advice of your financial advisor and/or attorney when considering a substantial gift or a gift of property, stocks/securities, or a bequest.
