**American History Book List**
We researched some of the best books that kids likely have not encountered in school, and DGT’s Big-Hearted Family programs created a new list of American History books with great biographies, histories, and historical fiction. This list continues to evolve as we learn of new excellent titles.

**DGT’s Kitchen Table Kindness Kits** were so popular last year that we created a follow-up Winter Edition Digital Download that lets families share acts of generosity from their kitchen table. The materials enable families to advocate for issues that matter and spark fun, meaningful conversations about empathy, compassion, and the common good.

**Daily Giving Challenge**
DGT’s new printable offers unique challenge for families to fight poverty in a thoughtful way. Perfect for counting down significant holidays such as New Year or Advent, this printable can be used at home or in classrooms in any month.

Our DGT™ Membership benefits continue to grow as we add to our Membership Library of exclusive downloads. We’ve also been working on ways to increase member engagement by offering opportunities for members to connect and learn with one another.

This October we said a big-hearted farewell to our retiring Founder and Executive Director Jenny Friedman, Ph.D and offered a warm welcome to our new executive director **MiaLisa (Mia) Millares, J.D., Ed.M.**

**DGT’s fall Festival of Giving** went virtual for the second year. Families enjoyed four author-read books, completed hands-on projects, enjoyed live music and movement, and downloaded an exclusive activity guide – all for free, thanks to our generous sponsors. All four videos are now included in our Membership library.

DGT’s Partnerships in 2019-20

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota

DGT worked with BCBS Minnesota to create an at-home engagement tool focused on racial and health equity and social impact to inspire their employees to act on this critical topic.

DeLaSalle High School

DGT worked with DeLasalle on their 9th grade service day. Students assembled tie blankets, packaged meals, made hygiene kits, and created fidgets and journals for those in need in the Twin Cities.

Global Peace Foundation

We were honored to continue collaborating with Global Peace Foundation on creating a supplemental manual on Volunteering.

Hats & Mittens (Copy)

Doing Good Together has completed a year-long project with this Minnesota-based nonprofit that collects hats, mittens, and scarves for kids. We created resources to help organize a collection, as well as materials to teach young people about poverty, philanthropy, leadership, community organizing, and service.

New Horizon Academy

As a part of the Festival of Giving sponsorship, DGT customized kindness kits for New Horizon daycares to spread kindness in their community!

Pediatric Toolkit

DGT piloted a Pediatric Kindness Toolkit that provides families with online resources to engage in compassion-building activities. Overwhelmingly pediatricians and staff at the pilot site felt that these tools inspired them to emphasize kindness and SEL at the 5-year check-ups.

PJ Library

DGT continued work on the PJ Library partnership, which offers families with young children books, ideas, and activities to celebrate Jewish life. We also partnered in creating customized Kindness Kit with collaborative content. These kits will help PJ Library members around the country to teach their children critical values and make a difference for others from their own homes.

St. Paul & Minnesota Foundation

DGT created a customized Live Generously activity pack and facilitated a virtual, hour-long Children's Philanthropy event for donor families of the St. Paul & Minnesota Foundation.

United Church of Christ - Minnesota Conference

We're partnering again with UCC, Ministry Lab, and Danger Boat Productions to create a flexible toolkit for faith formation leaders as well as families, whether in person or remote this advent season. DGT is proud to offer the "caring for community" segments and featured book suggestions for each of 6 weeks during the giving season.

News from our Miami-Dade Partnership

The Miami Kindness Project from Doing Good Together offers simple, free, Miami-based resources for incorporating generosity and empathy into your family life, class, or youth group.

Ideal for anyone spending time with youth, our downloadable Miami Kitchen Table Kindness Kit includes unique templates to inspire creativity, nurture compassion, and make a difference.

When signing up for our Family-Friendly Volunteer Projects, families can choose from fun, meaningful ways to give back. Many of these can be done right from their own homes.
