**Book List on Disabilities: Normalizing Differences**
Books can help children become more empathetic to those who may be different from them and answer questions they may have about those with disabilities. Differently abled children may find themselves represented in this evolving book list. These books, which emphasize abilities, inspire great conversations around accessibility and social justice.

**Homeschool Playbook**
These eight activities are an excellent compilation of classic DGT tools for Homeschool families. For homeschoolers who are looking for a way to start giving back, this is a great place to start.

**New Blogs and Printables**
We have a new blogger working with the Doing Good Together team this year! We have also added some new printables throughout our website for families to enjoy and to continue to work on building empathy and kindness.

Membership

Our Membership Circle continues to grow! This year, we added another year of lessons for our Classroom members to grow into and learn more about kindness and ways to engage in service-learning in the world.

**New Staff Members**
A big welcome to our three new staff members, Julie, Nancy, and Jessica! We are excited to have them on board as a part of the Doing Good Together team!

festival-of-giving — **Festival of Giving**
DGT’s Festival of Giving was virtual for the third year in October. Families enjoyed a repeat visit from Dan Saks, completed hands-on projects, enjoyed live music and movement, and downloaded an exclusive activity guide – all free, thanks to our generous sponsors.

DGT’s Partnerships in 2021-22

Global Peace Foundation

We were honored to continue collaborating with Global Peace Foundation on creating a supplemental manual on volunteering.

United Church of Christ

We partnered again with UCC, Ministry Lab, and Danger Boat Productions to create a flexible toolkit for faith formation leaders and families, whether in person or remote this advent season. DGT is proud to offer the "caring for community" segments and featured book suggestions for each of the six weeks during the giving season.

DeLaSalle High School

DGT worked with DeLasalle on their 9th-grade service day. Students assembled tie blankets, packaged meals, made hygiene kits, and created fidgets and journals for those in need in the Twin Cities.

Somerset and Garlough

DGT consulted with ISD 197 schools Somerset and Garlough on some very large Family Service Fairs that served over 800 children.

Mercy Vineyard Church

DGT partnered with Mercy Vineyard Church to create a Family Service Fair to match the theme of their fall year. We worked to serve families and nonprofits to create a fair with an education focus!

Fabric

We created another year of Family Service Fairs with Fabric Faith Community.

Winding Rivers Library

We created a new day-long kindness workshop geared toward community-focused organizations. This workshop is perfect for librarians, teachers, and schools looking to infuse kindness and service learning projects into their professional development.

Pediatric Toolkit

DGT continued to work on our Pediatric Kindness Toolkit, which provides families with online resources to engage in compassion-building activities. Overwhelmingly pediatricians and staff at the pilot site felt that these tools inspired them to emphasize kindness and SEL at the 5-year checkups.

Outreach

In focusing outward, we took some time to participate in podcasts and as speakers in conferences to intentionally focus on spreading the word about Doing Good Together. Click the image to check out our outreach efforts in the community and through the media.

Update on Miami-Dade Partnership

Thanks to the Al and Jane Nahmad Foundation, we received funding to partner with 13 Miami-Dade schools in the 2022-2023 school year. For the 2022 school year, we partnered with three schools for Family Service Fairs. The graphic shows the projects, nonprofits, and outstanding volunteer work our partner families engaged in this year. These Fairs will continue into the 2023 school year!
