Bring the spirit of Doing Good Together™ to your neighborhood.
What is a DGT™ Family Service Fair?
A DGT™ Family Service Fair is essentially a kindness-themed carnival featuring a series of stations, each with a simple, hands-on service project to benefit a local nonprofit. In just a few hours, participants can, for example, decorate paper lunch bags for isolated senior citizens, make toys for animals awaiting forever homes, assemble sandwiches or hygiene kits for people experiencing homelessness, or send cards to children suffering from long-term medical conditions.
What is National Night Out™?
National Night Out™ is a unique opportunity to unite communities for an evening of camaraderie and family service. National Night Out was created in 1984 to raise awareness about community policing efforts, make neighborhoods safer, and build camaraderie. Over the years, the event has grown into a nationwide celebration, a chance for communities, police officers, and other community helpers to come together in support of common goals. Held the first Tuesday in August (with exceptions in Florida and Texas), National Night Out aims to be a force for togetherness in a culture that too often isolates neighbors from one another.
Why Host a Mini Service Fair for National Night Out?
Doing Good Together™ has created three community-centered projects perfect for any National Night Out™ celebration. This mini DGT™ Family Service Fair features fewer projects than a traditional DGT event, making it both less expensive and easier to put together. Each of the three projects has been designed to inspire neighbors, young and old, to become ambassadors for good in their community.
