Somerset Elementary in Minneapolis continued the tradition of celebrating “Kindness Day”, a service learning approach to Valentine’s Day, with help from the nonprofit Doing Good Together. During a school service fair, students made chewable jewelry and play-dough, painted comfort stones, compiled breakfast bags and created a banner -- all to benefit local organizations including Brighter Days Grief Center, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), AutismSociety, FamilyPartnership and Southview Acres Health Care Center. This year, Somerset partnered with Garlough Environmental Magnet School on their Kindness Day efforts with a special station where students made kindness bookmarks for their friends at Garlough!
